GLP-1 medication works gradually. It's normal to notice little difference in the first few weeks, your body needs time to adjust to the medication and the dosage often still needs to be built up.
When will you notice an effect?
First weeks: reduced appetite is often the first thing you notice.
After 4–8 weeks: for most people, weight loss starts to become visible.
What affects the result?
The medication works best combined with lifestyle changes. Factors that affect the result:
Nutrition: eat smaller portions and choose nutritious meals
Exercise: regular physical activity supports weight loss
Consistency: don't skip injections and stick to the schedule
Dosage: a higher dosage often works better, but must be built up gradually
I don't notice an effect yet, what now?
Still not noticing weight loss after 8 weeks? Indicate this in your evaluation form or send a message via the medical chat. The doctor can then assess whether your dosage can be increased or whether something else is going on.
Stopping earlier
If you're already happy with your result, you can decide, in consultation with the doctor, to stop or gradually taper off.
Do you have questions about your treatment in the meantime, or want extra advice? You can always reach out via the medical chat in your personal account.
